I understand your point, but it's guilt by association. Kamala Harris is associated with someone who is a member of a political group that publicly slandered Trump.
Imagine if there were a Nazi veteran who was applying for a job at a Jewish day care center. But this Nazi didn't kill anyone, but he was just an officer who took care of his platoon's children. Would the day care be wrong to turn him down for the job due to his work history?
