Hi Jeannelou,
JT> I guess if Rachel and i were meant to get together it would have
JT> happened. I wish them every good thing in their new posting.
That's basically the same conclusion I came to. They're having fun
starting a new life together so I didn't push it. Rachel called me
Tuesday from SC; they got in ok (without problems) and have already
found an apartment which they can move into next week. Meanwhile, the
base gust housing they're in is a small apartment.
JT> We are minus 32 days and counting to leaving Miss. ourselves. It
JT> always comes much too soon on either end.
I know the feeling; we go thru it every time we move. The harder ones
are the shorter times somewhere--but, you know you'll be back whereas we
don't always know. We've been here for 5 years; it will really hurt to
move.
JT> I never did manage to get my kiln dug out from under the stuff our
JT> last summer 'housesitter' piled on top of it. I had planned that this
JT> year would be a major ceramic year. I need several of the utility
JT> items that i make for myself. I may just make it yet.
Got a laugh out of this one; this was to be my winter for piecing the
Double Wedding Ring quilt top. Got sidetracked into the "Sewing With
Nancy" challenge project instead. It's coming along pretty well; my
rotary cutter will have a good workout before I'm done.
What sort of ceramic projects do you do? I've never really gotten
interested, mostly the cost I guess, plus naturally gravitating toward
needle & thread arts. I did take one course but it seemed I was the
only beginner & the instructor was more interested in those who had been
taking classes (from her) for a while. Got a couple of things but
nothing to brag about.
JT> Do you know the http address for neverending BBS? i thought i had
Sorry, I don't have it handy. Probably someone who uses it will jump in
& give it to you. We've not needed to seriously consider it yet but
it's mentally available as knowledge it can be a backup.
JT> A ton to do today, so i must run.
I know the feeling; I'll be cutting strips to piece for my jacket later.
I finally figured out the best way to get the placement I needed; cut
some lightweight sew in interfacing the same size as the back and
transfer my pattern markings onto it. It will also provide a layer
between the fabric & batting so the batting won't catch in my presser
foot.
Catch you later,
Ruth
