It may appear to you that the entire nodelist is being loaded into
a buffer at once, but it's not. Even under a solid 32 bit OS like
OS/2, it wouldn't be wise to try to use that much physical memory
for one process.
There is no operation that would be performed on a nodelist that
would require the entire list in a buffer at once.
What exactlly does your program do?
