I took my Novice Test during Summer Vacation between the 11th and 12th
Grade in 1958.

After I finished High School I joined the Navy thinking I'd get schooling
as a Electronic Technician but the Navy decided to send me to Radiomans
School instead.

While I was still in the Navy I went to the local F.C.C. Office and
took tests to get RadioTelephone Operator and RadioTelegraph Operator
licenses.

Can't remember clearly if I got the Second Class License for both test
or not, I am sure one of them was for Second Class.

I had those Licenses in a box with my High School Diploma, Wedding License
and other personal paper and the box was stolen when someone robbed my
QTH.

No Radio Gear was touched, just the box, some jewelry, a camera and a
gun bag with a Bolt Action Rifle in it, but the Bolt wasn't in the bag
with the Gun, I had it somewhere else in the house.

I ain't been on the air for several years, but You know how LIDs are,
don't You?

I've been called a LID by the Hams in High School before I got my Novice
License, but I try to be a Good LID.

I once took the Amateur Extra exam but failed the written part, but walked
out the door with Advanced Class privledges(sp?) because I passed the
CW part of the exam.

I catch up on Amateur Radio happenings by reading messages about it in
the Ham Radio echos this BBS has on it.

Enuf for now, 73 -.. . Ed W9ODR . .
