Coming Tuesday, February 10, 1998 to http://www.chessbase.com
I know, I know, you're so excited you can hardly stand it. Your boring
life just got a tiny bit less pitiful now that Chess Madness is here.
(At least for a few jolly minutes anyway, more if you're a slow
reader.)
ChessBase, makers of great software such as ChessBase (doh), Fritz,
and Windows98, is the home of my new chess page, Chess Madness. It's
more fun than you've ever had with a mouse in your hand.
So caper, frolic, and dance the little happy dance, we have jokes,
gossip, outright lies, contests, insults, and even some chess.
This first edition of Chess Madness includes three of the following
four things:
-- How to write a bad chess article! (months and months of personal
experience make this the definitive tutorial)
-- Photos of your favorite GMs nude by the hotel pool in Wijk aan Zee!
(Net Nanny users may not be able to access this page. Nor should you
if you've eaten recently.)
-- Cruising the Red-Light District in Wijk aan Zee.
-- Analysis of Polgar-Shirov from the recent Hoogovens tournament in
Wijk aan Zee. I say Shirov could have drawn with 20...b4! even though
the official tournament bulletin said it loses easily. Be the first to
prove me wrong and have your name mentioned in bold text! Wow!!
Future Chess Madness articles will appear whenever the lazy slobs at
ChessBase get off their butts and post my new stuff. I wanted to post
daily of course, but they think it's more important to actually BE in
Linares to get first hand info. (They are also filming a lot of it and
getting interviews and video analysis for the next ChessBase CD-ROM
magazine. If you haven't seen this stuff you're missing something
amazing. Of course having, say, Peter Svidler pop up on your screen to
explain his moves in his victory against Kasparov may not be what
everyone wants.)
Anyway, there will be regular updates to keep you chortling throughout
the year. (Money back chortle guarantee.)
So put on your party hats and direct your browsers to
www.chessbase.com
Saludos, Mig
