Closest to that was Roman times when they invaded. They didnt get very far
in ¨either, but it's a mystery as there has been a fairly solid 'border' of
some ¨sort in all it's history, even if the border was climate.
Oddly, ancient human remains on the time of the mammoth shows it was better
¨traveled and the 'spice road' of later years was more the northerly route
of ¨Mammoth country in days of far yore.
