I don't think SqFix work's with *.MSG areas.
However, if you're sending all your BRE/Red Dragon files to the one system 
(either one for all or one for BRE/one for RD (per league), and using a 
BINK-style mailer, then a kludgy way to get around that problem is (in your 
mail processing or main .BAT file)
SQUISH SEND BRE\OUTBOUND\*.*  
I use that line in my nightly maintainance, as I discovered a bug in one (or 
more) of the 0.98x versions where if you get a lot of packets for one node 
(say your BRE hub is down) then BRE stops creating the netmail attach 
messages, but still creates the outbound data files.
This way, you bypass the netmail completly.
As to the grunged date problem, I've not had that with BRE, and I've run 
every version from 978 to 987 (or whatever the latest version is), so perhaps 
you need to run UNPACK.BAT again (as tho you're doing an upgrade).
