Actually, looking at the docs, it's if you install a kernel patch, it won't
outperform 3.12, but may outperform 4.xx
Since it doesn't support NDS, this may be the reason - I don't have enough
knowledge of NDS to comment, really.

There are no/very few SMB servers for dos, while Personal Netware (etc.) may
offer a solution of used with ncpfs and mars_nwe. Something I intend looking
into when I get round to it...
