I also have a lot of DOS stuff running....but the robot simply will no
longer write messages to any echomail area.

I'm using GECHO, which is even older than the robot, so that might be the problem.

What I'm planning to do, as soon as I find my passport drive is to move all
the Fidonet stuff there and then boot from a DOS CD....thus getting around
the Windows XP and NTFS issues.

If the robot plays nice under that scenario, then the trick will be copying
the netmails/emails that have come in to the system to the passport,
rebooting the system under DOS, running the robot and then copying the
outbound acks and mail in the Echolist area to the XP box.

I'm not looking forward to that....but it's really just another addition to
the "Batch File From Hell" that drives the robot now.

The fallback position is to visit my friendly purveyor of "Hey, it's
been on a lease for a 1000 years, and we have a real deal for you"
stuff and tuck that away in the corner for the robot.

It's a good thing I have an affection for buggy whips and button
hooks....it gives me the right frame of mind to work with old tech.
