I tried to do it with humour, but I guess it's far too subtile.

Political or religous discussions are not appropriate for this list.
Just as bad are all the would-be moderators who think their viewpoint is so 
correct that the entire list has to read it.

Don't clog my mailbox or the rest of the list with off topic stuff...if you feel 
offended by a post, email thee poster directly.  If you think I'm so dense that 
don't understand what's off topiv and that I know how to deal with it, email me 
directly...not the list.

I used to tell folks the drakelist had such a respectful bunch of folks it took 
no moderation...but I'm being proven wrong.
