Well, a curtin is an item that blocks one's view in and out of a window.
To ¨make it 'iron' means it's unbeatable. It's an americanism possibly to
refer to ¨'iron curtin' for the old border by combining those two concepts
together. It ¨is not one that I think a person new to 'english' would
catch the connotations ¨of.
If in english one says there is a curtin between 2 people, it would mean
that ¨they have an obstruction between them. If that obstruction is made
of iron, it ¨would mean they couldnt easily get around it.
