I must really be unclear these days. :)
If you take the single CNA test, yes, you become a CNA and can credit
that towards CNE if you decide to take the CNE track. Novell will issue
you a CNA certificate upon completion and verification of the test
results.
If you take the CNE track and complete the two Admin tests (more intense
than the single CNA test) you automatically become a CNA but don't
receive a CNA certificate because Novell expects you to complete the CNE
track and gain the higher credentials. You CAN, however, purchase, for
a nominal fee, a CNA certificate from Novell Education, once you've
completed the CNE Admin tests, if you really want the CNA certificate
while continuing to complete the CNE track.
If that isn't any clearer, then I give up. :(
