It's simply incredible what Anne McReary said to Gaylen Hintz
AM> Hello Gaylen!
Well, so we meet again hunh? :)
GH> memory serves me correctly.... there's not even a BBS or at
GH> least a fido based one in Sioux Falls anymore! :)
AM> That seems to be a common problem anymore, and we are losing
AM> more and more crafting participants because of it. :(
Sure seems that way in so many of the echos. :( You're
gonna have to do something similar to what I did. I got the custom
version of Banana Comm and distribute that through the offices of my
ISP! No, the bbs scene will never be what it was but it is
surprising how many people do come back from time to time to look
over the old board. :)
AM> So have you been doing any wood working at all??? Even
AM> something "little"?
Oh yeah, I did a couple reindeer and a Santa Claus sleigh this
year and was going to do a snowman as well but didn't have time to
get it finished. I'm looking for some good patterns for a nativity
scene and I figure if I start that in July it may be done by
Christmas. :)
GH> morning. :( Luckily for me though one of the local radio
GH> stations carries a morning service but it just aint the same
GH> driving down the road in a big rig. :)
AM> Nothing like getting it from front row center. < hehehehehe
hahahahahaha, unhunh and one thing is for certain.. if I fall
asleep during that service I'll very quickly be in trouble! :)
AM> haven't crocheted a stitch in a week. I got really
AM> frustrated. Everytime I would do about three rows it wouldn't
AM> "look" right, so I would "frog" it and start those rows over.
hehehehehhe, yep.. I remember those days! My wife does crocheting
sometimes and she would just about have something done and would
tear it almost all apart because it "wasn't quite right" :)
AM> Well I do have a fighting chance with the yarn! Atleast after
AM> I frog two or three rows when I see a mistake, I can "re-do"
AM> the stitches. I don't imagine you can do that with wood!
AM> Kind of hard to turn sawdust into wood again. <
hehehehehehe, well.... I have learned a bit of patience in my old
age and now if it's a project I'm really serious about I take my
time and don't get in a hurry. Also, I do quite a bit more planning
these days than I did when I was younger so what I do tends to look
a bit better. :)
Last summer we decided to either fix up our old storage shed or
buy a new kit or completed storage shed. We finally decided that we
could redo the shed not only cheaper but certainly better than those
kits! We were, of course, wrong cause we resided it , reshingled it
and of course we put in a new floor and the whole nine yards but it
certainly is a lot more sturdy and really much better quality than
those kit sheds so we were pleased with the outcome. :)
