Roses grow like > crazy everwhere you look. but, there are these micro-climates here: don't like > the weather, go ten miles in any direction and it'll be completely differnt. L. It's quite varied here, though there are distinct seasons - they just tend to be stretched or contracted into different parts of the year. But we say around here that if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change. And, weirdly enough... it often does. I've seen cold fronts so defined that it's dark and snowing on one side of the street, and still clear sunny sky on the other. Or days that hit 80 and in 30 minutes fall 60 degrees. Seeing/hearing a chinook wind come down the mountains in winter is a pretty awesome thing too. Start out with snow on the ground and freezing, and then a wooshing warm feeling with crackling sounds rolls down... and you can take your sweater off, and watch the snow/ice start melting... groaning and creaking as it does.
