We all have a leader. House members can do whatever they want though, and they do not have to follow their leader.
Example: Rep Molinaro voted against impeaching Biden, but Molinaro still picked up endorsement from Trump for 2024. Trump didn't hold a grudge against Molinaro for not doing whatever helps Trump.
I know you were in favor of the border bill, but understand that a lot of Trump's constituents were not. And Trump has a much deeper, more personal connection with his constituents than any house members do.
