I feel sort of stupid still using the old English scale of temperature
measurement but that's how it is in the U.S.

We DID learn and use Centigrade all the time in Junior High School
onwards in all science classes but that was a LONG time ago.
In fact we used sliderules as there was no such thing as an 
affordable consumer calculator for a few more years.
