Complete bollocks. Most SOHO managed switches will do port mirroring
nowadays, its been around since the year dot. My one here will do by
port or VLAN. 

It's better than my old enterprise Bay Networks switch.

Dustbin, I've used port mirroring with Wireshark for donkey's years.
It's very useful.
