Steve Sorenson babbled in a message to Robert Stark:
SS> I've looked at Novaback, Seagate Backup Exec, Arcserve, Stac's
SS> Replica, and everyone requires a server based setup with an NLM
SS> being loaded.
RS> Put the DAT Drive in the Server and get ARCserve :-)
SS> Gee...thanks, Robert .
Always offering a hand :-)
RS> kidding. I was using Cheyenne Backup for Windows95 version 2.0
RS> before I got ARCserve and it was working fine.
SS> Hmmmm....what were you doing as far as backing up the bindery?
SS> Backup 2.0 is doing a great job as far as everything else is
SS> concerned. Really, I suppose I could manually restore the bindery,
SS> but the thought leaves me cold .
Well, it reported that it was backing up the Bindery and the Console Screen
reported that the Bindery was Closed and opened by the user that was running
Cheyenne Backup but I never tried restoring it.
RS> I like ARCserve much better though. It's a lot quicker.
SS> If you load ARCserve's NLM, can you backup the server from your
SS> workstation?
No. ARCserve needs the drive to be in the Server.
SS> Thanks for the reply!
No problem but I need to ask you this. Why don't you want to put the DAT
drive in the Server?
