I see a lot of lights flashing on the DSL modem when I'm downloading a
message from your server. Since the messages are small my guess is that the
packet size is small as Mike N. reports.

I'm using Thunderbird on both Linux and Windows. On Windows Thunderbird is
fast on Barkto. On Linux Thunderbird is slow.

I want to try another news reader on Linux. I've been meaning to ask here
for recommendations on what to try.
