Oh, yeah, the 'tape as lint brush' idea. I remember now. :-)

I've been getting Practical Horseman and reading Kip Goldreyer's column right
away, and then tossing it into the pile to read 'later'. Ditto Equus and the
"True Tales" and "Case Report" features.

I've been thinking about getting started with sewing again, but I still
haven't done anything useful about it. Useful being defined as getting a new
sewing machine, ordering those patterns from 'Suitablity' that I've had my
eye on, and getting their book on making your own riding clothes (which a
couple of my sewing magazines have given a good review of) which Breakthrough
Books has in their catalog.

Last night there was an hour-long overview of Lexington and Badminton on ESPN
-- woefully incomplete but with decent commentary by Melanie Smith. Turns
out Bruce Davidson took a couple of nasty falls in Kentucky and broke his
shoulder, so he couldn't ride Eagle Lion, nor go out on Squelch at Badminton,
so if he makes the team at all, he'll have to ride Heyday. Stephen Bradley
won Lexington on Dr. Doolittle. If he makes the team he'll be riding in his
hometown! I don't remember the rest of the results -- would have to go back
and look at the tape.

It would have been nice to get a better idea of the whole competition instead
of just a fly-by of what the US competitors did, but the show was a segment
of the "US Olympic Trials" series, which is mostly designed to let the TV
audience lay eyes on all the contenders before the Olympic Games. Still, it
was awesome watching people tackle three and four-star courses.
Three-foot-eleven solid fences! Yow!

I've been following all your messages -- congrats on your new horse!
She sounds super -- I hope everything works out and she and Fiddle
get acquainted without too much fuss

Take care and good luck! Hope all goes well.
