The best book on the subject that I have read is "The Gospel According
to Pontius Pilate."  The author clearly shows the innocence of Jesus,
and the Sanhedrin acquitting Jesus of all charges.

There are apparently two parts of this time period rather than one.
In the first part Christians are not persecuted.  In the latter part,
Christians and other believers are persecuted.

It does not seem that any actual "Battle of Armageddon" takes place.
More like the war was over, the battle ending before it even began.

One hour.  Not years, decades, or centuries.  There have been many
tribulations throughout history.  And there will be more tribulations in
the future.  However, there will be a final tribulation, or persecution.
A small remnant of believers will survive, but how many that small is
can be anybody's guess.  The "hour of tribulation" is a reference to
the finality of what will happen, that no flesh will survive.  I have
been able to figure out how it will come about, given Mayan sources.
