Nod...agreed Doc!  Some of the best folks I work with are
"migres" but they have a Green card allowing them to work.  I
have listened to some of the mothers of families in a 4 apartment building
next to one owned by a friend of mine learning English from their children
that are attending school as they insist their kids do their homework. 
Kind of strange isn't it that parents take the time to learn the language
of their new land from the kids?
Or is it that they take the time with their children so they might build a
better future for themselves?  Going a bit off topic but if more people
cared about their children they would spend time helping them with
homework...reading stories at bedtime...talking with them...singing little
songs together...letting them 'help' with household chores (even if it
takes a bit longer to let them feel important in household tasks)...kids
are more observant than most of us give them credit for.

and it is true that alot of small farmers that use this type of "harvest"

harvest produce might be a better way of doing things .. but I dont think
these people are bad .. In fact it would probably be better if we could
selectivly kick out alot of americans and let some of these illegals stay in
the country .. Too many people really forget that the US is not even 250
years old .. and it's made up of "Immigrants" .. I mean take a look around
..
and if it's the american jobs that your worried about .. then just wait till
the produce starts coming in fully on boats .. Clothes + Plastics +
Electronics come in on boats now .. so just get more stuff imported too !!

Perhaps their working for substandard pay does allow Cherokee to buy cheap
produce. However, I wonder how much of Cherokee's tax money goes to waste as
a direct result of these illegal immigrants? Far more than the few pennies
he saves buying cheap produce.
