I've been hearing about people not being able to run various DOS based
applications in Win7.  Don't know if they were doing 64 bit or 32 bit,
nor if DOSBOX will really work there -- but it says that it will.

Is Win7 a 64 bit program, even if you have a 32 bit processor?
