-> -> Dogs lack vanity. If only more people lacked vanity too... how
much more a
-> -> happier place the world would be.
-> WC> Spanky smiles a lot when praised.
-> WC> It cracks me up when the back last 1/2 inch of his lips turn shgarply
-> WC> upwards.
-> They MUST have a sense of humor.
Spanky has a sense of humor for sure, he''s played practical jokes of a
sort on me.
-> I think Abbie does. She's such a
-> clown. She loves to clown around. A real clowner that one. She loves
-> to get up in your lap (and she is quite a lapful) and get you to play
-> with her while you try to read.
Spanky's on my foot just now but if in a chair he thinks he's a lap dog
too.
He gets jealous of the attention I pay to the computer too.
-> I know I have to give her more time to
-> play. I think if I do that she'll leave my plants alone.
-> Out back she likes to prowl for lady bugs and crickets.
-> -> You know I have had a question go unanswered. Maybe it's too obscene.
-> -> This is a better place to ask it perhaps. The question came up again
-> -> when suprisingly enough I saw it referred to by a popular columnist. I
-> -> can't be alone in this then.
-> -> When our pets are obviously dying do we keep them alive indefinitly by
-> -> artificial means? Of course not. We grant them mercy.
-> WC> I'll be facing that in a year or two.
-> We already did in March as you know. It's a sobering thing, very. But
-> you know you do know you're doing the right thing. Not for yourself
-> but for teh animal. This keeping humans alive past their time- is
-> nothing but selfishness. People doing it are doing it not for the
-> patent but for themselves.
->
-> WC> My guy is already 25 percent past the average age for the breed but is
-> WC> still going strong.
-> Enjoy him all you can.. he's a treasure. Patches was to us very much
-> too.
I do, he gets special attention each and every day and every sort of
praise well earned.
-> -> Why do not
-> -> humans accord the same to fellow humans who are dying or proven to be
-> -> brain dead?
-> WC> Oregon has a reasonable euthanasia law.
-> WC> Florida had Terri Schiavo :-(
-> Yeeah. No brainer. I told you about how my dear MIL said after the
-> Judge refused to return the feeding tube, "But imagine how Terry
-> (SIC) feels!?"
I've still got her brain scan here, she was long dead in any real
sense of the word.
-> I said mom, That's just it. She doesn't feel. Can you feel when you
-> are asleep? NO not until you are conscious and awaken. Terri has no
-> conscsious to awaken too.
-> People really don't understand how the brain works at all. PVS means
-> the body is running on it's autonomous system. There's no cognition at
-> all... it's sad and scary but keeping this person alive is like
-> keeping a machine operational. There's no person there.
Top of the brain stem runs that and little else.
-> I think I have to answer my own quesiton. People aren't afraid to do
-> what is best for a dying animal, but when it comes to a beloved person
-> they only think of themselves.
->
-> WC> I've still get a brain scan of her brain, what little of it remained
-> WC> not replaced by spinal fluid.
-> I remember the scan. People think somehow a miracle will grow frontal
-> lobe tissue I guess. Hmm maybe fetal stem cells... but hey the
-> rightwingnuts don't WANT that sort of thing do they. They just wanted to
-> keep her 'going' is all.
Hey somewhere they just cloned human embyonic stem cells differentiating
them into nerve cells.
This could lead to paralysed people walking again!
-> That's jsut it about these pro lifers. They just want "life" they
-> don't care about LIVES. (Quality of life that is.)
-> -> It realy is a sick world we live in.
-> WC> You know the only individuals in a position to change that,
-> WC> but they seem more interested in war.
-> Yeah. The pro lifer motto seems to be : have babies so you can supply
-> the warfront!
-> It's sin to prevent an unwnated life, but okay to kill it once born
-> and fresh out of High School!
-> WC> In the local news there's often a report on fighting Pit
-> WC> Bull training camps for those that raise them to fight in for profit
-> WC> gambling events.
-> :(
-> WC> To take such a potentally fine animal and turn it into a killing
-> WC> machine is beyond repulsive.
-> Humans do the same thing to humans. It's called , the Military.
-> WC> I actually do not understand what people see in this _activity_
-> WC> and I believe I'm glad I do not understand.
-> It's like the Middle Ages where dogs were tossed in to fight bears.
-> Some people haven't evolved above that part of human nature which is
-> our aniimal nature. Lust for blood and violence.
Yeah my Pit Bull lusts for getting and giving affection :-)
