Mine told me that if they sent a new modem and it dod not fix the problem,
they would bill me for the modem and the time the tech spent diagnosing my
problem.

So, I very calmly told them that if they didn't have their heads up their
butts, they would know whether or not the modem was bad before they sent
it...and if they couldn't figure it out, I would bill them my time.

But, at least they were not in some foreign country. I am making a lexicon
here....how to say Dumb Cluck in Hindi Spanish and several other support
languages.

Of course NONE of them understand some of the quaint Italian phrases that
we know and love and describe the various anotomical exercises that they
can do.
I've found that chanting "Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" while
waiting for them to look up a solution in their database works....although
what seems the most effective is to pipe some good ole timey hill music
into the phone line.
