In case you're interested, there is a product by a company named MILAN
that makes an AUI->BNC converter. It is marketed by them as a "MICRO
MAU, Model ML-05T, Ethernet 802.3 10Base2 Transceiver." It is very
small (approx. 2"x1.25"x.5") and utilizes a slide-lock to fasten it to
the AUI connector on the back of the NIC. I don't remember the price
but I've used several of these for customers with Compaq Deskpro systems
that had built-in NICs that had both RJ-45 and AUI connectors but no BNC
connector. They are powered by the NIC itself so don't require any
outside power source.
Once connected, you attach your BNC "T" connector the same way you would
with any other 10Base2 NIC, terminating the ends of the loop as appropriate.
