As did the previous versions. The change is that the encoder is now =
included for free. The decoder was previously. The reason the encoder =
was not was licensing not any DRM issue. Windows Media and Windows = Media
Player are agnostic as far as DRM is concerned. You can both =
encode and decode both with or without any DRM. The choice is left to =
content owners and producers.

release of Windows Media Player 10 MS now supports ripping to MP3 (at =

bit rates too). So apparently MS smelled some coffee too!
