I have come across a recent article in "Pharmacy Today". It is about a
new drug used to treat ADHD called Adderall. Has anyone had any
experience with using this or someone they know how has ADHD, I am
considering trying it on my son. I will quote the highlights from the
article:
An amphetamine product made of four salts (Adderall) was approved by FDA
for use in children aged three years and older who have
attention-deficit/hyperactiity disorder with hyperactivity or
narcolepsy. The components of the product are dextroamphetamine
sulfate, dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine sulfate and
amphetamine asparate. Before 1994, the product was marketed as an
antiobesity drug called Obetrol, but its name was changed after Richwood
Pharmacutical obtained marketing rights in 1994. the drug was withdrawn
from the market in Nov 1994 while FDA evaluated the reformulated product
application for the drug.
Adderall is available in 10 mg and 20 mg tables, which offer dosage
options that match pediatric needs. The product is a slightly less
expensive alternate to Ritalin, which is not recommentded for children
less than six years old.

So anyone who has used this medication I would appreciate your comments.
Thanks,
