Great, thanks very much.
In fact, while compiling a Linux kernel on one of my machines yesterday, I 
found a couple of files that come with the source which describe it in 
detail. Could be useful for networking at low/medium bit rates over long 
distances cheaply, I suppose. There's lengths in >1km mentioned in there.
