Perhaps you could make your point clearer by answering the following
questions ?
(1) Do you "protect" yourself from burglars by locking up your
residence when you aren't at home ?
Or do you consider this" giving some of our power away"
(2) Do you "protect" yourself from car stealers by locking up your car
(if you had/have one) when you aren't in it ?

If you object to the notion of negative people and positive people
then do you believe that all police forces should be disbanded ? After
all they are stronly founded on a "good guy", "bad guy" principle.
