subject: 32-BIT MODE

NH> Just a simple question...
NH> Why would someone WANT to write a 32-bit DOS app.. Is there a 32-bit
NH> flavor of DOS out there?
No, no, no.. A 32-bit DOS app includes a DOS extension (in Watcom's case,
DOS4GW or PMODE) which switches the computer into V86/32-bit mode. The
extender takes care (more or less) of translating 32-bit commands into 16-bit
DOS-compatible commands.
I've never programmed in 32-bit, DPMI, or any other extension, so this
information is only from what I understand.
Take care,
Anthony
