Dear Wanda,
RYM. Re: glueing wood together. sorry, that would be much more
work and bother than haveing it planed down. In order to get wooden
base pieces of a uniform size [absolutely required as they must fit on a
grid in any direction] I take a board of the right thickness and my
lord 'rips' it into thin sticks the long way. I then tape many of them
together and cross cut them to a 1, 2, or 3 block. In order to get the
board the right original thickness by gluing, i would have to plane each
piece [ on a joiner/planer] to take out any warp and make them fit
together perfectly. This way i just use the planer once on each board
to make it a tiny bit thinner and the right size.
Must break this msg up as o forgot your other question.
