        Disagree here.  Where is there any documentation, facts, etc that
places this perceived "need" on firearm type?  The bottom line is, law
abiding citizens are not going to kill randomly, regardless of firearm type.
If you must insist on need, then here is mine:
   I NEED a fully automatic firearm because I deem them to fulfill my needs
for recreation.  I find shooting fully automatic firearms to be quite
exciting, and this is in direct proportion to my right to happiness.  It
makes me happy to go to the range and fire a fully automatic firearm.  I am
not harming anyone, I am not killing with it and it has no direct effect on
you or your rights.  You are not being deprived of any rights, you are not in
any more danger than if I were shooting a BB gun.
  That is my need, and to me, is more than valid enough a reason to purchase
a fully automatic firearm...however, reality kicks in here and tells me that
I do not have the necessary monetary funds to do so, so I either save up, or
shoot someone else's.
