subject: Archbars & trussrods

Does anybody know in which year was the very last year that archbar trucks
and/or truss rod cars were allowed in interchange service? Some information I
read recently indicates it was somewhre in the late '20s, but I'd like to
know if that was the absolute final time or the begining of the legal
phase-out with the real deadline being later.
I'm asking because I'm trying to determine the proper era for the layout I
want to build which will include a fair amount of trussrod/archbar equipped
cars. I need to figure out which engines and other things would be
appropriate. I have a large collection of kits from Central Valley, Ambroid,
LaBelle, Silver Streak and others that fall into that era but need to know
what steel-constructed cars are appropriate to mix in with them.
I am Frank Sinatra of Borg. You will be assimilated my way.
