-> Sure they did.......the '59 went on sale in October 1958.
EH> ANd honest-to-god customer deliveries started about ten minutes before
EH> 1959!
Not really. In the old days, the new models were released 2-4 months early
before the beginning of the new model year.
EH> I'm sure there must have been some, but I never saw a 348 in an El
EH> Camino. I had one in a '59 Impala HT coupe.
Now that you mention it, I haven't either.....but I haven't seen too many
59 El Caminos as well. My mother had a red 59 convertible with a 283. My
sister had a 60 Impala Htp with a 348 though. I thought it was fast till a
63 Vette passed me on Hwy 121 one night. I was doing just over 100 mph.
EH> Sold that old honker for $150. Need my butt kicked!!!
Don't feel too bad......I paid $125 and traded a 4:56 Chevelle Posi rear
end for my:
1962 Chevrolet Belair Sport Coupe 409, 2 4's, 4 speed, posi 4:11, bucket
seats, Cragar Mags.....
(still got it all.....except the Cragars and bucket seats....)
Tom
... Four speed, dual quad, positraction, 409. . .
