As I'd said before I'd stay with my pooch.

Unfortunately the local network news affiliate dramatically 
made the point that had Katrina hit here I'd be 16 feet
under water.

If I could get a ride there's a ridge 20 miles north that's
30 or more feet above sea level and a kennel there
but if the kennel personel left I'd insist on staying with the dog even
if it meant sleeping on the floor.
I'd take care of all the dogs if the kennel owners chose to leave.

Any storm surge would take this house down.
