U.S. Spy Satellite De-orbit Resources Available

Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI) used its analysis and visualization software
to create a fictional representation of the U.S. Navy's plan to fire a
modified SM-3 missile at a failing U.S. spy satellite. Note: Users should
not infer risk or consequences from this presentation, and AGI bears no
responsibility for the consequences of any conclusions drawn from this
information.

AGI's STK software can propagate satellites, simulate missile trajectories,
generate debris from impact through dispersion, and analyze and visualize
these capabilities in 3D. For high-resolution graphics and/or animated
videos of this planned event, visit the AGI Media Center at
     http://www.agi.com/corporate/mediaCenter/news/spySatellite.cfm
or contact our subject matter experts at debris{at}agi.com .

From a technical standpoint, STK can be used to investigate and understand
orbital debris events. Methods have been developed to model debris events
with high fidelity by applying existing high-precision astronautical tools
(STK/Astrogator). With this approach, numerous variants for break-up models
and forensic analysis can be performed and studied. Existing break-up
models, or statistical distributions of area, mass, material density,
velocity, and magnitude, can be modeled in STKs full force numerical
integrator to produce a catalog of high precision ephemeris for study,
visualization, and in support to operations.

For more technical details on AGI's capabilities for Space Situational
Awareness (SSA), Defensive Counterspace (DCS), and Offensive Counterspace
(OCS), presentations, white papers, publications, and more are available in
the User Apps tab of the space superiority section of our Web site.
