Not by counting dots and dashes. Instead count "characters", i.e. a
letter or number or a punctuation mark. For example, dahdidahdit = the
character (in this case, a letter) "c". CW speed tests assume 5
characters = 1 "word". Thus the Novice license (5 wpm) test requires you
to "copy" 25 characters per minute. The General class 65 cpm, and the
Extra 100 cpm.
You must be a "codeless" tech or you would know this :).
