Yes. And I believe some vets disagree with the research and I lean
toward their reasonoing. If a dog (as the supportive case provids)ate
a whole pound of raisons well duh! I can imagine he'd get sick. I'd
think a person would too. A whole pound!?

I am strongly in the 'qunaity' effect corner on this issue. And the
tolerance limits vary from individual to individual. This is true with
people too. Plus animals can be allergic to foods just as people can.

So the 'baddie list' is based on better safe than sorry.
Better to avoid a potential danger than deal with the consequences
should they arise.

Someone elsewhere I once had a good rapport with got all bent out of
shape over the grapes issue because he gives his dog grapes all the time
and his vet said it's fine. The weird part is he couldn't understand
I agreed with him. I gave no aregument at all.

I agreed perhaps grapes are safe for some individuals and not others.
But for the life of me and I can't understand it at all- that person
wouldn't believe me my attempt at compromise. I think he liked being
at odds or needed to be right. Shrug. Tough poop. hmmm.

I don't either Mike. But accidents happen. If your dog happens to
catch up a few chocolate chips off the floor , don't panic. My
sister's Tabitioan Spaniel once found a hidden (easter candy)
chocolate bar. He ate the whole thing. He thew up. He was okay after
that. He has a very sensitive stomach anyways, but the chocoalte shock
wore off rather quickly.

I think it takes just so many exposures for a potential toxin
to cause damage.

:( Allergy most likely. Some people are allergic to chocolate too.
Severe food allergies can be quite traumatic. I'm thinking how server
some people react to say, strawberries.
