BK>>BK>>BK>> The worker is already paying social
security, he does that every
BK>>BK>>BK>> time he buys something, as social security
is included in the
BK>>BK>>BK>> price of the product. So taxes will not
increase, but they will
BK>>BK>>BK>> be spread over all products, including those
imported. Which
BK>>BK>>BK>> will make American products more competive, decrease
BK>>BK>>BK>> unemployment, increase govt revenues to pay
down the debt,
BK>>BK>>BK>> increase incomes to reduce poverty, and make
the country a much
BK>>BK>>BK>> better place.

BK>>BK>> TW> WHAT in hte HELL are you talking about. That is pure
BK>>BK>> TW> jibberish. ---

BK>>BK>> Nope, you didn't think it through. Jeff Binkley has posted
BK>>BK>> extensively on a sales tax as a replacement for the income tax.
BK>>BK>> All the benefits accrue to replacing payroll taxes with a sales
BK>>BK>> tax, but the down side doesn't.

BK>> TW> Is not YOUR statement above implying that Social Security
BK>> TW> is being paid out of Sales TAXES now???

BK>> No, Social Security is being paid out of payroll taxes. The
BK>> payroll taxes become part of the sale price, but they are not
BK>> sales taxes.

TW> TRAD your Quote again. The First Sentance qupoted above
TW> PLAINLY says. "Social Security is Included in the PRICE of
TW> the PRODUCT" And then You ramble on about it being also
TW> INCLUDED in the PRICE of Imported PRODUCTS.

TW> IT states NOTHING about "Payroll Deductions"

There was an assumption that anyone informed enough to be in
this debate would know social security is a payroll tax, and
payroll taxes are included in the price of the product.

Checking back in my archives, I find your very first msg to me
on this were in response to a paragraph in which I specifically
noted that social security and medicare were on payroll taxes.

BK> Which suggests the Auto makers depend a lot on OT. Establish

BK> off the payroll tax and put it on a sales tax, and watch the OT
BK> drop out of sight. More jobs, lots more jobs.
