That is what I had, with the four one-barrel carbs.  It had good power for
a small car, and had great balance for handling on turns.  As far as
straight-aways, I wouldn't know.  We didn't have any to speak of within
about 50 miles.  We didn't get an interstate highway anywhere nearby until
1969.  But the Corvair was great on twisty two-lane mountain roads.
