You can drive from San Jose' to San Diego in California in approximately 8
to 9 hours (about 525miles). In Texas, you can drive from El Paso to San
Antonio in less time (about 540 miles). The speedlimit in Texas is 75mph,
meaning you can drive 85mph for most of the way (better slow down to the
speed-limit about 60 miles from SA). My first two trips down that road, I
got off at exit 539 and took Texas-46 across to New Braunfels. Later
trips, I went all the way to San Antonio's first loop (1604) around the
city and then east to I-35 and NB, a longer distance by 30 miles, but 20
minutes faster and non-stop all the way.
