We've been having an interesting discussion lately on our local BBS about
old rolling stock. Specifically, we've been looking into the heavy duty
flats and depressed center, span bolster type cars. Conrail is still
rostering
a large block of ex Pennsy cars which, upon some more research, were found to
have been built in 1938. I know there's supposed to be some sort of FRA rule
on car age, something like 40 years for interchange, but does this also
apply to special heavy duty, limited use cars?
