Well, just to throw this in:
In Texas, there is an ECA (Emergency Care Attendant) before EMT. I guess
the ECA is a certified first responder. But, aside from only having to
attend (I think it is:) 80hrs in training and not having to do any
ambulance rideouts, there is not a thing I can think of that an EMT can
do that an ECA can't...hence the reason Texas is right in the middle of
changing up the certification levels..matter of fact, I think they've
already passed the new levels, but I haven't heard of the changes.
