I went down to Jay Emrie's place in San Antonio a few months back. He gave
me a modem that he was no longer using. I remember he stated many times in
the AUTOMOTIVE echo that he could no longer work on his vehicles at the
age of 80. He'd have his sons work on it while he supervised. Seeing his
condition in person told me why. He didn't look 80, but he has diabetes
and he can barely walk now. I suspect he'll go like most diabetics I've
known, piece by piece.

Joy lives in the fight, in the attempt, in the suffering involved, not in
the victory itself.
