No -- safflower oil is too refined, unfortunately, you have to use the petals.
More than what you use with the real stuff. I bought Sezhuan peppercorn a while
ago, true, but I think we can still get them -- I will try. They are tasty. 
I've been looking for a spice called "long pepper" but can't find
it by that
mname.  It's a capsicum, and I don't know which... any clues? Lezlie
