That is the way it should work, too, but there are elected Democrat politicians
in the US that claim not sending out ballots to people who *don't* request them
is somehow wrong, and that they should be sent to everyone who is registered
regardless of desire to receive one.
Only sending them to people who request them is somehow a Republican
conspiracy to prevent people from voting.

Trump has indicated there will be deportations, independently of, and before
the Project 2025 hogwash came to light.

That does happen, and people do get prosecuted for it (if they get caught).
They are not always Democrats, either, and they are often citizens (which
means you cannot deport them).
