We had an instance here a few years ago when a jet plane made a
forced landing for lack of fuel. There had been an error converting
gallons to litres. Some fuel attendant thought there were 4 gallons
in a litre instead of 4 litres to a gallon, so the plane took off
with just 1/16 of the fuel it required for the trip. The plane
landed nearby in time and there were no injuries.
