Dear Ruth,
Thanks for the nice long msg.
I can tell you what would happen if you used one of those 'sew
through everything without batting an eye' machines to sew leather
very much; it would go to pieces. An ordinary machine simply isn't
heavily enough built to take the gaff. There are heavy enough machines,
shoe repair shops and leather goods factories have them. However they
start at about $2,000. I simply can't justify that even reduces when it
is sold used.
I guess i didn't need to tell you about heavy needles and button
and carpet thread. You may have been using it before i was.
The game i was on was not [as far as i know] on the internet. It
was on a net called 'Chainlink', and i got it through a Fido BBS. In
any case, i'm out of there. I may not give up my chatting, as i have
found a gardening chat line. They do make some serious sense in there.
The only problem is that it is crowded. Unlike the other chat lines, it
shows only 4 msgs at a time and if there are 40 people on there, the
msgs change too fast to keep up with. I miss so much while i am trying
to type even a short mag, and most of mine aren't short. How do you
explain how to keep deer out of the garden in a short msg?
Getting late and i haven't gotten my dl yet.
         Shalom, ll
