The massiiave size of hte fire box makes oil not practical. ALCO actualy
built a Oil Burning BIGBOY as one of the series. But it just didn't work out
right. Couldn't maintain any type of even heating of that HUGE crown sheet.
And Coal Engines were built for the Eastern Railroads right up to the End of
Steam Production becasue of the plentiful supply.
